“Oh, I think I’ll be alright,” Robin said, smiling kindly at the three girls. “Now, before I go, is there anything I should see around here? Any special places to go? I figure I may as well get the most out of my, er, trip!”
“You can always see Paris,” Desiree noted. “Ees most beautiful of all France.” It was not like they had been around all of France to make that conclusion - but to them, Paris was a whole lot better than the village.
“Oh, that is a splendid idea! I would like to find somewhere to take my girlfriend on vacation someday…and Paris sounds like a lovely spot!” Robin pulled out some money to pay for his drink and handed it to Desiree. “Thank you ladies so very much!”
“All girls love Paris,” Desiree grinned. “She’ll enjo- Merci! Merci beacoup!” Desiree quickly counted the money and tucked it into a pouch dangling at her waist. “Be sure to viseet ze Notre Dame, eet’s tres grande!”
“Thank you very much, miss Aimee!” Robin said, taking the ale. “I am from Sherwood Forest, which is next to the village of Nottingham!” he replied, taking a sip of his drink. “I’ve been wandering around, trying for a bit of a vacation, you see, and I’m not quite sure where I am!” he chuckled. “Would you mind informing me of the name of this lovely place?”
“Nozeeng’am, zat sounds veree… Engleesh.” Desiree commented. “And ees your vacateeon workeeng out?” Fleur giggled before clearing her throat. “You are een France monsieur, to be exact een ze east of Parees.”
“Ah! That would make sense. I don’t usually get lost like this, but I started wandering and then all of a sudden - here I was!” He took another sip of his drink. “Thanks so much for helping me figure that out! And yes, Nottingham is in England!” he smiled.
“No problem,” Fleur chirped. “Eet’s funnee how often ‘ikers and such venture here, askeeng for directions while we’re just next to Paris.”
“Eet’s a zree-day journey to Parees, Fleur.” Desiree said and tossed her hair back over her shoulder. “Are you ‘eadeeng somewhere in particular?” Aimee asked.
“Oh, I’m sorry! I didn’t realize you weren’t open yet! I can wait outside,” Robin said, backing out. He began to take in the street again, wondering why he had never heard of this town before.
“Mais non! Monsieur I deed not realize zat you were not from around here.” Fleur said quickly. “My apologies. Would you like anyzeeng to dreenk?”
Aimee tossed the rag she was cleaning with behind the bar. “You can come in, we’re done cleaneeng now.” she grinned.
“Oh! Well, alright, then,” Robin answered, returning to the tavern. “I’ll just have a small drink, if you don’t mind,” he thought for a minute about what to order, “I suppose an ale would be good!” Robin did not frequent taverns or bars often, so this was a bit of a foreign experience for him. But he did know that such places were nice spots to find out information. “So, it is wonderful to meet the three of you! I’m Robin Hood,” he smiled.
“Monsieur, we serve dreenks for a leeving.” Desiree grinned. “Une ale. Comeeng right up!” Aimee ducked behind the bar. “I’m Desiree,” the girl in yellow said. “Je m’appelle Fleur.” the girl in green followed. “Aimee,” the girl in red walked up with a mug of ale on a tray. ”Where are you from?’ she inquired.
Robin had decided he needed some time away from his dear little forest, and went on an excursion to find places he’d never been before. He found himself in a quiet, little town, with beautiful streets and buildings. He began to stroll between the shops and other businesses, looking for a place to stop. It was then that he saw a neat looking tavern, and began to head in that direction.
The triplets were cleaning the bar and tables when the door opened. “We weell open een just a few minutes,-” Fleur looked up and her eyes slightly widened at the fox on two legs. “Eh, can I ‘elp you?” she added.
